TagEnergy has acquired early-stage renewables developer ACE Power, adding approximately 6 gigawatts of battery, wind and solar projects to its Australian pipeline.
The acquisition significantly expands TagEnergy’s local footprint and development capabilities, particularly in project origination.
The deal transfers ownership from Pelion New Energy and several minority stakeholders, and brings 27 new personnel into TagEnergy’s Australian operations.
ACE Power’s founder and Managing Director, Andy Scullion, will lead TagEnergy’s development function. Current Head of Development, Théo Imbert, will shift into a strategic integration role.
With the ACE Power portfolio onboard, TagEnergy now claims a national pipeline of 10GW. This includes the 1.33GW of renewable projects it already has in operation or under construction – most notably the Golden Plains Wind Farm in Victoria, the largest onshore wind project underway in the Southern Hemisphere.
Golden Plains was also the first major renewables project in Australia to proceed on a merchant-first basis without Power Purchase Agreements in place. It set a new benchmark in June 2025 as the largest wind energy producer in the country.
“TagEnergy and ACE Power share the same entrepreneurial spirit and bold ambition,” said TagEnergy CEO Franck Woitie.
“And by bringing our strengths together we’re creating an Australian clean energy champion.”
The acquisition will see ACE’s third-party co-development projects continue under the TagEnergy banner.
TagEnergy entered the Australian market in 2022 through the acquisition of Golden Plains Wind Farm from WestWind Energy.
