JA Solar signs rooftop deal with NSEG

JA Solar has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with rooftop solar provider NSEG to supply 150MW of photovoltaic (PV) modules for projects across Australia in 2025.

The agreement forms part of JA Solar’s expansion in the rooftop solar market and follows more than a decade of operations in Australia.

Under the agreement, JA Solar will supply its DeepBlue 4.0 Pro modules, designed for rooftop applications including residential, commercial and government projects.

The modules are engineered to perform under a range of rooftop conditions, such as variable temperatures, shading and space constraints, and are aimed at meeting the demands of Australia’s urban and regional climates.

NSEG, which has installed more than 60,000 PV systems across the country, will use the modules to expand its solar offerings.

JA Solar East Asia and South Pacific Region Steven Chen said the agreement supports efforts to grow solar deployment across Australia.

“The collaboration with NSEG marks a major step in expanding rooftop solar PV across Australia,” Chen said. “By partnering with industry leaders and offering reliable, high-performance solutions like DeepBlue 4.0 Pro, we are advancing Australia’s clean energy goals.”

JA Solar said its collaboration with NSEG builds on its broader investment in the Australian market, including research initiatives such as its joint PV laboratory with the University of New South Wales.

The company also signed a 1GW global supply agreement with energy solutions provider OSW earlier this year.

JA Solar said it remains focused on developing products suited to a range of Australian conditions, from inland zones to coastal regions and urban centres, with an emphasis on supporting decarbonisation, grid resilience and local energy development.
